Programs for Women and Nonbinary Students

Programs and Fellowships

Break Through Tech Career Readiness Program - The Break Through Tech (formerly WiTNY) Career Readiness Program intends to give underrepresented women in tech more than adequate preparation for a career in the tech field. This extracurricular program covers anything from resume building to preparation for technical interviews

GHC Women of Color in Tech - This opportunity gives underrepresented women of color in tech the opportunity to attend the Virtual Grace Hopper Celebration as a network and knowledge builder.

The Wit Project Fellowship - Our program was founded to address a pipeline that was not fulfilling its promise to get more women of color into tech and keep them there. Our approach relies on embracing intersectionality in the female identity while also supporting individual struggles through presenting technology as a mode of change.

Rewriting the Code Fellowship - Intended for women undergraduate and masters students; it assists fellows in gaining internships and full-time jobs in top tech companies

Dorm Room Fund Female Founders Track Application - A six-course program to assist women and foster competition by bolstering founders' innovative ideas and turning these into full-fledged startups. Professionals teach all about founding, fundraising, and all other stages of the process

Charles B. Rangel Summer Enrichment Program - This program encourages the application of members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service, women, and those with financial need. Students live at Howard University, attend classes, and participate in a variety of programs with foreign affairs professionals at Howard and at diverse locations around Washington, DC

Internships

APS/IBM Research Internship for Undergraduate Women and Underrepresented Minorities - The American Physical Society and IBM co-sponsor two undergraduate research internship programs: the APS/IBM Research Internship for Undergraduate Women, and the APS/IBM Research Internships for Underrepresented Minority Students. The goal of these internships is to encourage women and underrepresented minorities to pursue graduate studies in science and engineering. Any student who identifies as a woman and an underrepresented minority is eligible to apply to both internships.

Break Through Tech Winternships/Sprinternships - The Winternship, a paid, three-week, mini-internship experience during the January academic recess, is an innovative program that creates a new pathway into those coveted summer internships. In just three weeks, 'Winterns' get immersed in their host company's business and work on a challenge project.
