Epermits

ePermits for CUNY Schools

ePermits are when CUNY students are interested in a course taught in another CUNY school that is not being offered at Hunter. You would apply for an ePermit, and if accepted, you are able to take those courses as electives. Each school that teaches CS has its own specialty. For example, here are some 300 & 400 level classes taught at other CUNY schools: (PLEASE NOTE YOU CAN ONLY TAKE A EPERMIT CLASS IF THE TOPIC IS NOT OFFERED AT HUNTER)

KEEP IN MIND NOT ALL THE EPERMIT CLASSES LISTED ABOVE ARE CREDITS THAT ARE TRANSFERABLE.

Every semester these advanced classes may vary so take the opportunity to look into each CUNY School and their CS programs and their classes.

Also please note when dealing with ePermits, it takes a while to process the permit, and availability for these sort of classes are limited, so plan accordingly. Also note that each school's pre-reqs are different, so if you are applying for an advanced ePermit class, take that into consideration. The best way to search for these classes is here.

You can request an ePermit online using CUNYfirst. Instructions can be found here. The following 4 pages show screenshots on what you will find on the link. If you have any questions with ePermits, be sure to contact the registrar's office of that specific CUNY school you wish to have a class for. There are many other CUNY schools you take an Epermit class from and the list here does not consist of all the different CUNY schools.
