Federal Work-Study
Federal Work-Study is a program that puts undergraduate and graduate students in part-time jobs (very often related to their discipline) to help them with education related expenses. Wages range from $11.00-13.00 per hour for Undergraduates and $14.00 per hour for Graduates. It lightens the pressure of college life while preparing you for your post-graduation careers.
Students are eligible for Federal Work-Study if:
They are at least a part-time student (enrolled in 6 or more credits)
They are a US Citizen, permanent resident alien, or of other eligible classification
They have filed a FAFSA form by the deadline (2020-2021 deadline - June 30, 2021; 2021-2022 deadline - June 30, 2022)
They have demonstrated financial need
They are in good academic standing (2.0 GPA or more)
In order to apply for Federal Work Study:
Fill out the Employment Eligibility Verification Form and include acceptable documentation therein
Keep tabs on your Hunter email address (notification of Summer Work Study awards occurs late May, while notification for Fall Work Study occurs late August)
You can also check CUNYfirst's Student Center page to accept the award if granted.
If you have not been awarded, you may still inquire about Federal Work-Study by emailing fwsjobs@hunter.cuny.edu via your Hunter email address (you need to indicate your interest and provide your EMPL ID)
